Séga Diallo - the 19 year old son of a very dear friend of mine - is ready to launch into the world! He has been accepted into the "Universite du Quebec" and is ready to start university studies in computer engineering this spring semester. In his home country of Senegal, educational opportunities are limited and we're therefore raising funds to support his education abroad. There will be a lot of costs from transatlantic airfare, to books, to housing and tuition - and we'd love for this this intelligent, motivated, young man to get off to the best start possible. Kindly consider contributing whatever amount you can, no number is too small.

From Séga (English is his 3rd language, after French and Wolof) ~

I am Séga Diallo. I am 19 years old. I am training in computer engineering at a private institute in my hometown, Thies/Senegal. I would like to study in Canada to gain experience outside my country but also to have excellent, more advanced training to be able to carry out my professional development projects for my country. So obtaining external partners would not be an obstacle for my future business thanks to these studies. This will allow young people in my country to wake up to launch into the digital world through the creation of a company with an international vision of creating machines and software like Microsoft.

Also, I am the eldest of the five children my parents have been blessed with. I have three brothers and one sister. My father has been doing his best to pay for our studies and my mother is a housewife but never stops investing much energy in our education and daily life. That’s why I feel that it’s my responsibility to work hard and succeed so as to help my other siblings pursue their studies, knowing that my hard-working dad will retire in a few years.
