Help Me Build a Home Gym for My Friend Ryan

Hi everyone, my name is Billy, and I’m reaching out to ask for your help in supporting someone who means a lot to me—my friend Ryan.

Ryan is one of the most resilient, determined, and inspiring people I’ve ever met. Despite being completely blind and facing challenges that many of us can’t imagine, he continues to push forward with an unshakable spirit and a heart full of joy. He never lets his disabilities define him. Instead, he proves time and time again that nothing can hold him back.

Ryan and I met at Pearl River Community College, and from the start, I knew he was different—in the best way. Since then, I’ve watched him achieve incredible things, including earning his degree from LSU and walking the stage to graduate! His perseverance is unmatched, and he continues to inspire everyone around him.

One of Ryan’s biggest passions is working out. It’s something that fuels him, gives him independence, keeps him feeling strong, and is the most effective medicine to manage his diabetes. But getting to the gym is nearly impossible for him. Transportation barriers make it a daily struggle, limiting his ability to do something he truly loves and keeps him alive.

That’s where I want to step in—with your help. I’m setting up this GoFundMe to raise $1,000 to build Ryan his very own home gym so he can work out on his own, without worrying about how he’ll get there. This will give him the freedom and independence to keep doing what he loves, right from home.

Ryan has never let his circumstances stop him. He has very limited ability to work due to his disabilities, but that has never stopped him from chasing his goals and accomplishing incredible things. Now, I want to give back to him in a way that makes a real impact on his daily life.
