My name is Rubi Lopez and I'm reaching out to you with a humble heart and a hopeful spirit. As a first-generation student born in Mexico, my journey to pursue higher education in the States has been filled with challenges and triumphs. Now, on the brink of graduation, I have the opportunity to share my story and inspire others like me.

As a single mother of one, every day is a balancing act between work, parenthood, and academics. Despite the odds, I've persevered, juggling two jobs to make ends meet and provide for my family. However, despite saving diligently, I find myself short of the funds needed to cover the expenses of an invaluable program that will not only enhance my education but also provide a platform to share my narrative as a first-generation student.

I've always dreamt of traveling, of expanding my horizons beyond the borders I've known. Yet, the furthest I've ventured is to Canada. This program represents more than just an educational opportunity; it's a chance for me to step outside my comfort zone, to immerse myself in new experiences, and to grow as an individual.
