Empower Robert's New Beginning with a Vehicle

My name is Robert, and I need a vehicle in order to get to and from work. I am striving to be a productive member of society, but I'm running into several barriers.

I'm diagnosed with bipolar 1, which I now have the proper medication to level me out, thank the Lord. Back in 2021, I was in a manic/psychotic episode brought on by several factors. One factor was lack of proper mental health care. Another was drug addictions that I have struggled with for 16 years. In August 2021, I went to prison for the first time (and the last time).

While there, I was able to get stable on medication that actually worked for the first time in 12 years. God used this time to get me clean and clear-headed. It taught me to rely fully on God and his provisions, and I learned tons of patience. I also learned to adjust to changes as they came, which had been difficult since a car accident that left me with PTSD.

In this time of introspection, I learned to be more disciplined. More disciplined in my self-care, and disciplined in my Biblical studies. I was well on my way to 300 lbs when I got arrested, but I got down to 200 lbs in a little shy of a year.

In my stay, I also finished my GED which I had continued to put off due to addictions and other struggles. I graduated Salutatorian of my class, having some of the highest scores my teacher had seen in the years he had worked in the penitentiary.

All of these things combined have led me to be in the best place mentally, physically, and spiritually. Which have me geared up for success. I've even landed a spot on the praise and worship band at my church playing drums.

I'm working with Texas Workforce to get some college tuition. And also to help me with job placement. I have been applying at several companies since my release in February 2024, but my background continues to prevent me from finding gainful employment within a reasonable distance from my house.

I know that if I had reliable transportation, I could flourish in this new life that Christ had given me. Until then, I will continue to be patient and wait for God's provision.

I intend to use 80 percent of my goal towards buying a vehicle. The rest will be used to register and insure the vehicle so their will be one less thing to worry about for little, while on this journey to start my career and new life.
