Hello, my name is Quiyon and I am a college student at the University of California, working towards my goal of being a first-generation college graduate. I am pursuing my degrees in both Psychology and Sociology and am aiming to finish both by Spring of 2026. With these degrees, I hope to further my education by pursuing my Master's in Higher Education followed by my pursuit of a Doctorate.

UC has an enriching opportunity that will help me better understand and apply what I have learned in the classroom. This summer, I will be traveling to Puerto Rico to study and observe race, identity, colorism, and anti-blackness from an ethnographical perspective. I am excited about this opportunity and am looking forward to it.

As much as I am looking forward to this opportunity, there is a cost associated with me traveling for 3 weeks. I am saving and applying for scholarships to assist financially, but am also asking for your support on this endeavor. I truly cannot do this without your assistance, whatever it may be.
