Empower Queer Art: Help Jack Scott's E.P.
Donation protected
My name is Jack Scott and I am a singer/songwriter currently based in Los Angeles. I am passionate about making art that reflects my experience as a queer person. Not only do I want to empower ( and employ!) my own community, but provide an intimate view into our stories to remind others of our common humanity.
I grew up in a big Irish family where I learned the importance of connection through music and storytelling. My first love was dance which I started studying at age 4. My career launched at 20 when I found out I had booked my dream Broadway show, Newsies, and got to perform in its entire run. During that time I also found my voice as a song writer and began sharing my music at open mics and cabarets.
Up against the pandemic, I was able to release my first video project, "Train Ride", which showcased an original song and dance inspired by my early influences Fred and Ginger. Stephen Mosher of BWW wrote "Train Ride is an MGM musical in three minutes. It is fun, lively, colorful, entertaining, and totally lovable." and "With Train Ride's release, Mr. Scott has gone from entertainer to barrier breaker."
Where "Train Ride" was a stand alone piece, my most recent single and video "Get A Clue" is the first project on a five song E.P. I am most excited about this collection of work because I am no longer hiding behind a character and finally introducing my inner world to my audience. It is the most authentic I have been while paying tribute to the genres that I was raised on.
As an Independent artist, I put everything I have into creating my art. Working full time, my off-hours are dedicated to my music. However, it absolutely takes a village. I count on the creative team I have supporting me to achieve a quality of work that would be impossible on my own. Your donation will help to cover the cost of production, paying my company and crew fair and honest rates, and post-production of the final 4 songs and 2 videos remaining in this project.
Creating art is heart and soul work for me and your support, whether it's by donation (of any size), words of encouragement, or simply sharing this page to get more eyes on it means more than I can even describe.
Stay tuned on this page as I'll be sharing more ways to get involved :)
From the bottom of my heart, thank you
