Empower Peyton Finch's Journey in Wrestling and Jiu-Jitsu

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Peyton Finch. I am currently a 12-year-old student athlete currently enrolled at Pine Crest Academy of Northern Nevada. I am a Straight A student and have been on the honor roll since I was in 3rd grade and take a lot of pride in my academics. My favorite subject is Math.

I have a huge love for the sport of Wrestling and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. My journey in this started when I was 9 years old and was bullied at a trampoline park. I told my dad I wanted to learn how to defend myself and the next day he spoke to a local Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Gym and the following Monday was my first class.

After taking that class I wanted to take it even further and 2 months later, I started doing wrestling as well. I was able to do my first Grappling tournament in Eldorado Hills taking 2nd (Silver Medal)

Since then, I have been hooked on competing and training. I train every single day for hours, sometimes up to 5 hours a day. My dad also supports me so I can also do private lessons on top of that. I am very fortunate to have the Instructors and Coaches that I do.

This past summer I was even lucky enough to attend a wrestling camp that lasted 10 days and 8-10 hours of wrestling and conditioning every single day. The highlight of this last summer for me was I was able to train with Caio Terra and Mason Fowler. Caio Terra and Mason Fowler are among the top athletes in the entire world for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. The most important lesson I learned from my time at Caio’s gym was “Its not about how good your jiu jitsu is, but how good jiu jitsu is for you” and “Technique Conquers all” and to be humble and respect all and to be the best person you can be. I hope to find myself training with Caio and Mason more frequently.

All the experiences I have shared with you have not only made me a better athlete but a better person. But getting to this level comes with its own challenges, like travel expenses and training costs and hotels and flights. That’s why I am reaching out to you, even a small contribution can make a huge difference in helping me chase my dreams and keep going strong on the mats.

But more than just the money, I am asking for your belief in me that I can keep going on and being strong and compete and do my best and pushing myself to be better everyday and having the courage to keep fighting, and inspiring others to work hard for what they are passionate about. Thanks for considering supporting me.

Sincerely,
Peyton Finch
