My name is Kylie and I'm located in Wisconsin in the United States.
Two of my dear friends have a dream to empower Palestinian women through a new business they are building called Fragrance of Bethlehem. Due to the occupation of the West Bank, finances are difficult for everyone, and this business could help many women support their families in meeting their basic needs. Fragrance of Bethlehem will feature and sell artwork made by Palestinian artisans, including pottery, olive wood carvings, mosaics, and tatreez (traditional Palestinian embroidery).
Their goal is raising $3,000 for start-up costs for their business, including creating a website that will allow them to sell artwork to people outside of Palestine, as well as within their borders. Eventually, they hope to have a brick and mortar shop as well.
I met these two women when I was volunteering in the Bethlehem area in 2016. They are both such kind, talented people who care about their community. I was honored when they reached out for assistance in procuring these funds. They both have been having difficult financial situations as the current sole providers for their families and could use support. We would be grateful if you were able to support their mission.
I am in charge of gathering donations and will wire the funds raised directly to my friends.
