Empower our dojo: A Community In Need
Greetings, we are Binns Victory Martial Arts, located in East Flatbush, Brooklyn, N.Y. and we are humbly asking for donations for necessary renovations in our dojo, as well as a new and upgraded bathroom to accommodate students with disabilities and families with small children.
Why we’re fundraising:
Serving our community over the years, wear and tear has taken its toll on our dojo, and we are in need of some necessary repairs as well as a bathroom renovation. With your generous support, we aim to create a modern, accessible and welcoming space that reflects the values of our karate community.
What will this fund?
BinnsVMA is setting a goal for this fundraiser of $20,000 to update our restroom by creating more space and inclusivity for general use or for changing into karate clothing. We would also like to complete the necessary renovations for the building.
Please consider donating to our cause or sharing our page to help spread the word about our campaign.
Thank you so much for your time, spreading the word, and for donations as well!
About Us
Below is a little bit about who we are, the services we provide, and what we do for our community of East Flatbush N.Y.
We are a small, family run business in operation for over 30 years, offering a variety of martial arts programs for children, teens, and adults. Our programs focus on the development of life skills through martial arts, building confidence through learning self-defense and developmental motor skills for those as young as two years old. We offer services to the elderly as well as children and adults with special needs.
We aim to provide a safe environment, keeping teens and young adults off the streets and out of trouble. They are able to create positive, lifelong friendships and develop skills that will boost their confidence and create opportunities. Some of our students travel to different countries for competitions and also to teach seminars. We love being able to open up the world to those in our community who may not normally have the opportunity to travel.
We are deeply involved with our students' personal growth, helping them develop positive characteristics and enriching their minds academically as well. We run an after-school program, and our staff members play active roles in each student's academic future by speaking to their teachers and helping with homework or projects. Binns VMA also provides volunteer work for young teens to dedicate time during the week as role models, helping the students in our program and developing a rapport with them as they go through their journey academically and in Martial Arts.
In addition to our classes and volunteer work, we also provide our community with inexpensive and fun filled winter and summer camps where we provide enriching activities both educational and exercise/sport related and local trips all while ensuring a safe environment that is welcoming and accessible. Given the time spent with our campers, we have the opportunity to provide positive behavior enforcement as well as introduce male and female role models. We often find children who enroll in our camps have an increase in confidence and improvement in character development. Long hours in the dojo for both our students and staff create a need for a facility upgrade that will provide more comfort and accessibility.
