The Ohio State University Speech & Debate Team was once a nationally competitive program built on excellence, confidence, and the power of voice. When the pandemic hit, our momentum slowed and our team faced significant challenges — but we refused to let our story end there.

We are incredibly grateful to have secured an endowment that reflects belief in our mission and long-term future. That support has helped us begin rebuilding our program.

Speech and debate is more than competition. It gives students the courage to speak up, the confidence to share their lived experiences, and the platform to be heard. It creates a space where people from all backgrounds can tell their stories, advocate for what they believe in, and grow into leaders.

Today, we’ve revamped our leadership and welcomed a new generation of passionate competitors ready to return. However, tournament entry fees, travel, and lodging expenses still make it difficult for many of our students to compete throughout the season.
