My name is Michael H. Morgan, founder of Project Teen Team and owner of Mayhem Studios, where I've worked as a professional photographer for over 30 years. I'm also a United States Marine Corps Veteran, and mentorship, discipline, and service have guided my work both behind the camera and in the community.
Project Teen Team originally ran from 2018 to 2023, empowering young people across New York City to express themselves through photography. The program helped students build confidence, teamwork, and creative skills while learning how to tell their own stories through the lens. Many of our youth described the program as life-changing, opening doors to new passions, new friendships, and new opportunities.
In 2023, I was diagnosed with Stage 3 cancer, and I had to pause the program while focusing on treatment and recovery. I'm now grateful to say I'm progressing forward, and with renewed purpose, we are working to bring Project Teen Team back in 2026 — stronger, more structured, and ready to serve more youth than ever.
We are currently raising $15,000 to relaunch the program. These funds will support:
• Cameras & lenses
• Lighting & photo gear
• Printing & creative workshop materials
• Local field photography trips
• Student showcases & exhibitions
We are also seeking donations of photography equipment — new or gently used cameras, lenses, tripods, lighting kits, memory cards, or accessories. Every piece of equipment helps a young person develop real skills and find their creative voice.
Your support will directly help us:
Empower youth expression
Build confidence and leadership
Foster a supportive creative community
Reintroduce a proven, meaningful program back into NYC
Thank you for believing in our mission and for helping young people see their world — and themselves — in new ways.
