Millions of people in sub-Saharan Africa are silently living with chronic diseases like diabetes and hypertension — without proper monitoring, follow-up, or even awareness of their risk.

In hospitals without digital systems, healthcare workers rely on paper records, long queues, and incomplete histories. Complications like strokes and kidney failure are common — and often entirely preventable.

We’re building Vida+, a simple, smart, and affordable platform that uses artificial intelligence to help clinics predict and prevent complications, track patients remotely, and bring family health into focus.

Why this matters:

• Diabetes and high blood pressure are on the rise — yet most systems in our region are built for acute care, not chronic.

• Health workers are doing their best — but without data, follow-up, or alerts, they’re flying blind.

• A single device, a simple alert, or one missed visit can mean life or death.

What we’ve built so far:

• A working prototype of Vida+ with dashboards, clinical records, family tracking, and risk prediction

• A team of doctors, developers, and educators ready to pilot the system

• Positive feedback from public hospitals and local researchers

Contribution impact

$350 - Provide IoT-enabled monitoring for one family (glucose or BP)

$1500 - Fully equip one hospital with access to Vida+

$1000 - Train and support an entire clinical team for 2 months

$2,000+ : Launch a full pilot across 1 facility, reaching over 700 patients

Our goal: $15,000 to scale the pilot across 3 public hospitals and integrate IoT devices (blood pressure monitors, glucometers) for real-time data.
