SITUATION
‘Worst-case’ famine is searing across Gaza*. The starvation is real, yet what does this mean? It means slowly watching hunger suck life and soul away. It means families rummaging through rubble and anarchy with nothing but frail fingers. It means mothers battling to feed their babies as they suffer and wither away. It feels unbearable to witness, can you imagine living this way?
All families deserve to live in dignity & safety. Whilst solidarity is vital, it’s not enough. Together we can support incredible grassroots organisations like GINA (Gaza Infant Nutrition Alliance), who are working tirelessly to empower mothers and support essential infant nutrition.
GINA
GINA provides life-saving breastfeeding support, which is critically important when formula is unsafe or unavailable. GINA are a collective of international volunteers, including lactation consultants, doctors, midwives and health specialists. Their aim is to establish a continuous milk supply, training, education and community support where it is needed most. They work in collaboration with several partners including MSF, Action Against Hunger, the Ministry of Health in Gaza and several UN agencies, and are currently based in 5 hospitals and 1 community clinic (1st community breastfeeding clinic in Gaza). FOR OUR BABIES COMMUNITY CAMPAIGN
This fundraiser is at the heart of our ‘For Our Babies’ community campaign. We want to raise awareness around baby loss, create opportunities to commemorate this, and support vital work to prevent baby loss.
BABY LOSS AWARENESS WEEK
Baby loss takes several forms during and after pregnancy, and it’s important more people are aware of this. Alongside raising awareness + supporting GINA’s incredible work, we will be supporting BLAW (taking place across the UK from 9th to 15th October 2025). To learn more about BLAW, click here.
LAKE DISTRICT CHALLENGE
Between 30th September and 2nd October (over 3 days), Wasim hiked 40 miles, climbed 4000 metres, and reached 25 summits to support the campaign. Please Wasim's efforts by donating what you can to GINA. To see highlights from this, visit: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/8AZy7DqTaHY
WALK + VIGIL
On Sunday 12th October, a diverse group of people (including babies) came together for a FREE family-friendly walk + vigil in the Surrey Hills to support our campaign in the wonderful outdoors. We shared new connections, colourful conversations, and also commemorated baby loss during our vigil.
