Today, I am thrilled to share with you a life-changing opportunity that has come my way—an acceptance into Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. A Journey of Resilience:

Born and raised as a Palestinian refugee in Lebanon, I have faced numerous challenges throughout my life. Yet, my indomitable spirit and unwavering determination have propelled me forward. After graduating from the United World College in Armenia (UWC Dilijan), I embraced the transformative power of education, working tirelessly to excel in the International Baccalaureate (IB) program. This immersive experience, filled with cultural shocks and academic rigor, ignited a fire within me and allowed me to give back to the community that nurtured me.

A Passion for Chemistry:

My fascination with chemistry bloomed during my 7th grade, and it has remained an unwavering passion ever since. The IB program deepened my understanding of the subject, fueling my desire to specialize in medicinal chemistry. I aspire to contribute to groundbreaking research and invent cures for incurable diseases. In addition to Case Western Reserve University, the University of British Columbia, with its renowned Chemistry program, has also offered me a spot in its undergraduate program. However, the substantial tuition fees have become an insurmountable obstacle.

The Financial Hurdle:

With immense joy, I received a financial aid package from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, covering a significant portion of my expenses, however, the remaining amount of around $8,000 US per year still poses a significant challenge. Lebanon's economic depression, compounded by a deteriorating currency value and skyrocketing inflation rates, has left my family unable to support me financially.
