My name is Michelle Fogarty, and I created this page to ask for your support to help me on my journey to the 2025 Adapted Crossfit Games in Las Vegas Nevada. Securing eligibility for the games has taken hours of training and dedication all while balancing my job as a middle school math teacher, coach for Special Olympics and ongoing challenges with my own health challenges from Multiple Sclerosis.

My fitness journey has not always been easy battling health issues related to my diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis. Seeking to take control over my symptoms I decided to try a different type of training. At 60 years old I took my first class and my Crossfit journey began. Slowly I have experienced muscle gain, flexibility, balance, improved range of motion and decreased fatigue. Additionally, Crossfit workouts provide motor coordination training which helped me to establish new movement patterns disrupted by Cerebellum lesions. The workouts have been easily adapted to my needs as an athlete in the gym. As an adapted athlete, I am finding success in and out of the gym both mentally and physically.

At the age of 64, I qualified as a top 10 athlete for the Adaptive Crossfit Games which will occur Sept 11-14th in Las Vegas, Nevada. It is a huge opportunity for me to compete as an athlete in the games but also as an educator who shares a mantra with students that there is ability and possibility within everyone all you have to do is look within yourselves.

This amazing opportunity does come with great financial expense, and I am asking for financial help to help me reach my goal. The financial costs include entrance fees, airline, lodging, food, and personal necessities. I have physically met the challenge of going to the games but the financial expenses to attend add up quickly and every dollar helps me get closer to participating in the Adapted Crossfit Games.
