Hello,
To everyone who has graciously supported our educational journey in the US, I want to thank you all for your incredible support and update you on how things are going for Mehrnush and me. This past year would not have been possible without you. I finished my first year of graduate school as a single mom and I have been awarded a 10-hour assistantship for next school year that covers 60% of my tuition! I’m currently working two campus jobs - the maximum hours allowed under my visa—but despite this, my savings have run out. My visa only permits me to work on campus, and these positions are low-paying. I am $10,000 short of covering the remaining tuition for my next 2 semesters. I would be deeply grateful for your support, once again, to help us continue our education.
Mehrnush finished the fifth grade and will start sixth grade this fall. She was able to get into a magnet school, which is tuition-free free and the transportation is provided. She became proficient in English and was able to exit the English development program in less than an academic year, which is a rare case! Additionally, she worked very hard and made the honor roll every quarter. She loves reading and has discovered that she also enjoys singing. She is very happy and continues to find new activities that are enriching her education, including a robotics camp this summer. She’s thriving and growing every day.
As for me, I completed my year of graduate school. It hasn't been easy, especially as a single mom balancing school and parenting, but watching Mehrnush grow and learn so much has been my biggest source of motivation. We currently live with other graduate students from the same university, and we’re incredibly grateful for their support. They help whenever needed, including picking up Mehrnush from school when I have class.
The funds raised previously through GoFundMe covered two semesters of tuition and living expenses, and I managed the rest using my savings. With my two hourly jobs, I can cover our living expenses, but I won’t be able to save enough to cover the remaining tuition, so I am humbly asking for your support again as I hope to raise the remaining $10,000 so that I can complete my master’s program. Thank you in advance for your help and support. You have no idea what this means to us and how it has absolutely changed our lives for the better!
With Deep Gratitude and Love,
