Here's Makenna. You will hear her say that music is her life! Having participated in choirs, school music programs, theatre, and/or private vocal lessons since she was five years old, her passion has grown over the years. Aside from her achievements in the arts, Makenna is well-rounded both academically and athletically. In addition to earning her varsity letter on Eisenhower's Swim and Dive Team, she has started her sophomore year strong academically. The Presidential Award for academic excellence and membership in the Junior Honor Society were among her freshman year accolades.

Makenna attended Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in Michigan this past summer to gain an immersive vocal experience. The Blue Lake Fine Arts program is offering an International Music experience this summer, which was open to music students throughout the county. During an interview and application process, Makenna was selected for a partial merit scholarship! Over the next several months, students travel to Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp a few times to begin their training. Following school, the students attend Blue Lake full-time for intensive language training and vocal training. Afterward, they will fly to Paris as a group and spend the next 20 days rehearsing and performing with local choirs in select European countries (France, Germany, and more). During their stay with host families in each area, students will have immersive cultural experiences. An end-of-tour performance takes place at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp once back in the States. It is a program filled with excitement and opportunities.

To continue supporting Makenna's dreams and ambitions, we need financial donations from her family, friends, and the community. This experience is not financially feasible with the scholarship amount she received alone. A substantial portion of the costs are associated with the European leg of the trip, but there are also several additional expenses, including uniforms, practices at Blue Lake, etc.
