I post this GoFundMe even though I am not a person who posts my personal situations on public platforms. This is the exception; my stepson Logan is an 11-year-old non-verbal autistic child who has stolen my heart.
For those of you who do not know our Logan personally, let me tell you a little bit about him. Logan has the best laugh ever. It just makes you forget all your troubles and makes you laugh out loud with him. Logan has the most beautiful blue eyes (thanks to his dad) that when he looks at you, your heart melts. He has never said words like daddy, mommy, or I love you, like most other parents hear every day from their children. We can only hope this therapy will enable him to say those things one day. To know Logan is to love him as he is, but the more time you spend with him, the more you realize how much more he deserves in his life.
Brandon and I have an opportunity to provide Logan with a quality-of-life improvement that we never expected, given his diagnosis. Stem Cell Therapy could give Logan the ability to speak, to express emotions and thoughts, make eye contact, show physical contact with loved ones, communicate his feelings, improve his cognitive ability and clarity of thought, which would provide him to experience an independent and productive future life.
The total cost of Logan’s stem cell therapy is $35,000, and thankfully his mom and stepdad are splitting the expense, which means our fundraising goal is $17,500. Stem Cell Therapy will require harvesting Logan’s own stem cells, followed by three separate infusions. Because of the nature of the procedures, he will need to be sedated each time. Unfortunately, this therapy is not covered by insurance, making it a significant financial burden. Additionally, time and age are critical factors— for the treatment to be most effective, Logan needs to receive it now, not later in life. This is why we are reaching out for financial assistance. WE do not ask for this lightly, but we will do anything and everything to provide Logan with a chance of a better quality of life.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and thank you for your donation.
Love, Brandon, April, and Logan
