Empower Kyle's Mobility: Donate for a Transit Van

Hi there,

My name is Kyle and I am 32 Years old, with cerebral palsy and a seizure disorder. I am permanently in a power wheel chair and I have limited means of transportation, outside of my city. My caregiver and I do ride the bus occasionally but it only goes so far. I would love to be able to attend events, outside of my city and also attend medical appointments, without having to call emergency services or relying on my parents. I no longer have access to Uber WAV because the service has been discontinued. I have contacted many transportation companies, in the bay area but they do not run in my city, so my transportation options are sorely limited. Amtrak and Bart are some of my options but realistically, it takes all day to be able to get around. My parents have tried contacting the city about my situation but they pretty much get brushed off about it. Some of my hobbies include, sports events, camping, and going to concerts. My goal is to have a custom transit van made, so my caregivers can take me where I need to go. There are events at my apartment complex and in my town but some of the events may be farther away, so I have to sit those events out and I would like to be able to be included. I yearn to explore what the bay area has to offer.
