Empower Kimar to Lead and Uplift Young Black Men

Greetings family, friends, and community!

My name is kimar cain and it is with great joy that I announce that I've been selected to be a part of the 2026 cohort for the Masters Series for Distinguished Leaders through the Skinner Leadership Institute housed in Washington, D.C.
I’m reaching out with a heartfelt request for your support. As most of you may know, I've been community organizing for 15 years and this opportunity will allow me to lead, create, and curate community on a larger scale.
This one-of-a-kind culturally sensitive leadership excellence program equips leaders with high-impact communication, confidence, emotional intelligence, and community-driven decision-making skills. All of which are essential for transformational work in underserved communities.

The program isn't free. This is where my community steps in. I am raising $5,000 to help cover tuition and expenses so I can fully engage in the program and return better equipped to serve. This experience will sharpen my ability to advocate, lead, and scale my impact, especially through my organization, Brother Helps Brother.

At Brother Helps Brother, our mission is rooted in elevating men of color, especially young Black men. Helping them find their voice, sharpen their oratory skills, and become exceptional readers. I believe when Black boys and men are equipped to articulate their ideas, read with excellence, and lead with purpose, our entire community is strengthened.

A major inspiration behind my work is Dr. Jawanza Kunjufu, an educator, scholar, and author whose lifelong dedication to Black male achievement, literacy, and cultural empowerment has shaped my vision. His insights on uplifting Black boys have fueled my passion to innovate and expand meaningful programs that support their growth. I am running with the baton to continue this work in his honor. The work he's done in the 80s is still relevant today and I seek to enhance it through various programs and initiatives I look to build.

But this isn’t just about one program. My ultimate goal is to grow Brother Helps Brother into a larger organization and eventually launch a Coming of Age School (COAS) for young men where leadership, literacy, communication, and character are cultivated from an early age. With your support, I’ll be better equipped to bring that vision to life.

Please consider donating whether it’s $5, $25, $100, or more. Every red cent and green dollar will get me closer to fully stepping into the next chapter of leadership and service.

Thank you for believing in this mission, for uplifting young Black men, and for helping me grow into the leader I’m called to be.
