I’m excited to share an opportunity to make a meaningful difference. I’m raising funds for We Are One Sports Academy Inc, a fantastic organization dedicated to serving youth between the ages of 13 and 21.

Many of these young people come from difficult environments, including gang-impacted neighborhoods, youth detention programs, broken homes, or unstable living situations. Some of the youth they work with are or have experienced homelessness, substance abuse within their families, or involvement with the juvenile justice system.

Through ONE Sport Academy, they aim to provide these young people with a renewed sense of purpose and direction.

Lucky Sagiao, founder started working with these youth in 2008 on the streets and one year ago obtained a gym and was approved for non profit status.

Beyond athletics, the program emphasizes mentorship, open dialogue, and community. Students participate in confidence-building discussions and round-table conversations .

Lucky came from a similar background as many of the youth he serves. He has experienced homelessness, drug use, criminal activity, jail, and prison. Those experiences shaped his understanding of how easily young people can fall into destructive paths when they lack guidance, mentorship, and opportunity.

As he grew older and worked to turn his life around, he realized that time is our most valuable resource. Looking back, he often thinks about how different his life could have been if someone had stepped in earlier to mentor him, guide him, and show him a better path.

Currently 56 youth attend the gym weekly and that number is growing. They are looking to raise money for the following endevors
