Hi everyone — my name is Shannon, and I’m a maker who believes technology should make a difference in people’s lives.
I recently partnered with the incredible nonprofit MakeGood to help produce 3D-printed Toddler Mobility Trainers for children with mobility challenges.
I have already printed, assembled and delivered my first chair to a family and looking to continue this journey, but need your help with funding.
These mobility trainers are life-changing devices that allow young children with conditions such as cerebral palsy, spina bifida, or developmental delays to move independently, explore their world, and interact with other kids at eye level.
Traditional pediatric mobility devices can cost thousands of dollars, and many families struggle to obtain them due to insurance limitations or availability. The amazing part about this project is that these devices can be created using 3D printing technology, making them dramatically more accessible.
I’m volunteering my time, printers, and assembly to build these mobility trainers for children who need them. However, the materials and hardware cost about $200 per chair.
That’s where this fundraiser comes in.
My goal is to raise funds that will allow me to continue printing and assembling these mobility trainers for families in need. Every donation goes directly toward:
- 3D printing filament
- Hardware and assembly components
- Materials needed to complete each chair
What your donation can do:
- $20 → helps purchase a roll of filament
- $50 → contributes to hardware and parts
- $100 → funds half a mobility trainer
- $200 → sponsors a complete chair for a child
Each chair takes days of printing and assembly on both of my 3D printers, but the impact lasts far longer — helping a child gain independence and confidence.
If you’d like to help, you can donate here or simply share this campaign with others who may want to be part of something meaningful.
Together, we can help more children experience the freedom of movement and the joy of being a kid.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
