Nestled between the organized chaos of Nairobi and the edge of the Great Rift Valley lies the working-class town of Vet-Ngong, a community long plagued by poor road conditions, crumbling infrastructure, and a growing sense of despair that has left the youth increasingly vulnerable to the influence of crime and drugs.
Despite these circumstances, the passion for football in Vet-Ngong is palpable. Children and young adults play for hours on end sporting their favorite English Premier League jerseys while using makeshift goals, dribbling worn-down balls, and risking injury by playing on dry, rocky, uneven patches of land. Their talent is raw, their energy is boundless, but their opportunities are scarce.
We are losing a generation of talent and potential to these challenging circumstances. But we see opportunity: with the right infrastructure, we can redirect that raw talent and boundless energy into a pathway toward education, professional development, and a stronger community.
Our Solution: The Vallymore Arena & Community Hub
We have secured a lease-to-own agreement on a two-acre plot of land with a vision to build a state-of-the-art facility that will serve the entire community. This project is more than just a football pitch: we are building a self-sustaining hub that will include a cafe, gym and garden – all designed to empower the youth and stimulate the local economy for years to come.
Our project includes four core components:
- Five-a-Side Astroturf Pitch: An accessible, high-quality, all-weather pitch that will provide a safe and durable playing surface for thousands of children and young adults. The pitch will be equipped with goals, security, fencing and floodlights, allowing for evening games and local tournaments.
- Cafe: A small, welcoming cafe next to the pitch. This will provide a source of revenue to help sustain the facility, create local jobs, and offer a comfortable space for parents and locals alike to connect.
- Outdoor Gym: A well-equipped outdoor gym with durable equipment that will provide a space for youth and adults to focus on their health and wellness.
- Community Garden: A vibrant space designed to improve food security, provide fresh produce, and create employment opportunities through agricultural training and sales.
Our Budget: Every Shilling Counts
We have meticulously researched the costs to bring this vision to life and are committed to transparency, ensuring that every donation is used effectively. We are asking for your support to raise 22,000 USD to build the astroturf pitch and cafe—the final pieces needed to launch Vallymore Arena. Your donation will directly fund construction, create local employment, and give youth in Vet-Ngong a safe place to play, train, and pursue opportunities that were previously out of reach. After the initial investment, the Arena will be self-sustaining through nominal pitch reservation fees.

- Create Long-Term Sustainability: Through nominal fees for pitch reservations, the facility will generate sufficient income to ensure its long-term sustainability. We need charity to start, not to sustain.
- Build Community: This project will create a central hub where families can connect, support each other, and build a stronger, more resilient society.
