I am very proud of my daughter, Kenya.
She's a high school graduate with aspirations towards working in healthcare, a wonderful mother to Raya, who's almost 2, and she's finally escaping Raya's father, who was supposed to love and protect her, but instead would physically hurt her and leave her with injuries. He also neglects their daughter and refuses to get a job to support them.
Kenya is Donnie and Alani's older sister. She came to live with us for a few years after her mother suddenly and tragically passed away in 2017.
Kenya does have a very part-time job that she needs in order to pay rent for her and Raya's independent, safe living space. In order to maintain that job and, very importantly, be able to drive to where her beloved little brother Donnie will be living once he's discharged from the hospital. Kenya has Certified Nursing Assistant experience and Donnie's going to be very happy and fortunate to have his amazing big sister taking care of him. It will also be delightful for Donnie's little niece Raya to get to know her sweet dear Uncle Donnie.
If you have ever remembered what life was like when you were 19, you know it was not easy. Kenya has lost and suffered so much in her short time. From losing her mother, to having her brother Donnie be hospitalized, and now finally getting away from a physically dangerous and unsustainable relationship. Kenya needs to have a reliable car to maintain her independence, as her abuser never shared any of their finances with her so she could also have a car.
Your donation will pay for insurance and any needed baby items, like a safe car seat, so Kenya may continue her life's beautiful mission to be her daughter's rock and rainbow.
