My name is Keirsten. I am a single mom to three girls, ages 8 years old, 6 years old, and almost 4 years old. I got accepted into the LPN (Licensed Practical Nursing) Program at Ivy Tech Community College. I work as a Title Aide at an Elementary school making $13.40 an hour, 29.5 hours a week. I am also a home health aide on the weekend, making $13 an hour doing that. I am trying to better mine and my daughters' future by getting my nursing license. I am not currently eligible for financial aid, so I am having to pay completely out of pocket for school. Between my rent, utilities, car insurance, and car payment, I am really struggling to come up with the cost for school. I am hoping that if I can pass my classes I am signed up for this 8 weeks, that I can get my GPA up enough to apply for financial aid again. It would mean the world to me and my girls to have a some help, as this is a huge financial burden and I have worked so hard to get to this point.
