Hi!

We are taking a class this year called Project Liberty that looks at American history and government through the lens of national monuments, founding documents and culture.

The class empowers students to research, lead discussion, teach and write on these topics and will culminate in the spring with a theater production based on content from the class and a week-long trip to Philadelphia, New York and Washington D.C. where we will serve as docents for our classmates at important places like Independence Hall, the Statue of Liberty and sites on the National Mall.

We also plan to meet with first responders from 9/11 and hope to visit the White House. We have never been to New York and are most excited to see some of the important cultural sites and monuments there.

We each need to raise $1000 to pay for our transportation and housing for the trip. We have been working on our own to raise money, but want to invite others to be a part of our experience. Any amount helps us get closer to our goal and we will include you on our trip blog by sending updates about what we are learning and what we see on the trip.
