Empower Jiacuy Roche: Visionary Film, Twisted Closure

Jiacuy Roche’ is a multi-talented Afro-Brazilian artist who was born in Salvador Bahia, Brazil and raised in Washington D.C. She currently resides in Colorado. She is a Entrepreneur, Muralist, Author, and Screenwriter. Her latest novel, "Twisted Closure," has received significant praise and positive reviews from readers and critics alike. She forges together a narrative of her multicultural traditions mixed with her own Brazilian roots through the use of vibrant colors, shapes, and lines that create movement, representing a strong, diverse, and unique style of art that can relate to a lot of people. Jiacuy uses her artistic form through storytelling and illustrations. She is currently a screen writer for an upcoming movie, based off her novel, Twisted Closure. She wants to educate about the controversies about Brazil and also uplift the beauty of Brazil’s culture through fashion, food, dance, and music.

Twisted Closure will be a long feature film. The story is about an Afro- Brazilian American artist, Liliana Santos who goes by the name Lyric. She tells poetic inspirational stories with a twist. Her master piece painting, Closure is missing. Lyric has to find her artwork without the help of her adoptive Caucasian parents because they always kept secrets from her. She travels to Brazil in search of her painting and during her journey she learns the controversy of political views, Prostitution is legal and abortion is illegal. The gangs and drugs controlling the streets but, enlightened with comedy and Brazil’s rich culture of music, dance, food, fashion, and art. An adventurous travel log filled with drama featuring, OG prostitute and crooked cop with action pact scenes.

Twisted Closure storyline is compelling and a well written script. A film production company voiced, "Great story and cool vision." Jiacuy states, "My mission is to use my art as a tool of advocacy and create a platform. I want to empower other Brazilian female artists of color. " Jiacuy is in the process of achieving this goal.
