Empower Jenna: A Fresh Start for Her Family
Donation protected
My name is Jenna Torres. I am an advocate for over a decade, a poet, and a mother of 4 children. I relocated to Georgia to support my children in having a better quality of life. Georgia is a very different place to navigate and get assistance and support. I have been without much-needed medical care and without consistent, flexible employment since 2022 because of my unique family commitment.
I am excited to note that being a stay-at-home mom will soon come to an end as my youngest will be entering kindergarten! I did not inherently choose to be a stay-at-home mom, but between daycare costs, the inability to get childcare assistance, and not having reliable transportation, this made the most sense to be able to support my children the best. I will also be returning to school in August, and I believe this will be the start of my life reset that has needed to happen for so long.
Being a single mother is not easy; having to ask for support is challenging. Today, I am asking for support to bridge the gap while I am still searching for more sustainable employment. Currently, I am 30 days behind on rent and do not have contracts in the works for the next two months.
Before making this fund account, I reached out to every resource in my county. Unfortunately, for my county, we are not prioritized. I want to thank everyone in advance for supporting me and my family.
Breakdown of the funds
- Rent for January that is past due (was given until 1/30)
- Rent for Febuary upcoming
- Rent for March upcoming
In addition to monetary support, I am looking for sustainable remote work while I have a preschool-age little one.
