Empower Jalen's Future Through Education
Donation protected
Hello friends! My name is Gino. I am very involved in supporting underprivileged youth. I met Jalen's mom while she was working one of her three jobs. Jalen's dream is to attend St. Vincent's High School in Petaluma. He has received a partial scholarship from the school and his mom and I have been discreetly raising money for his education. I can honestly say that I have never met a harder working single mother!
Jalen is a hard working young man that fully understands the task his is about to take on. He knows that there are a lot of people out there that are willing to step up and help as long as he is willing to do the work! I would be immensely grateful if you would consider donating to this Go Fund Me so that Jalen can begin his educational journey and achieve his dreams!
I asked Jalen to write me something to post and this is what he sent:
"My name is Jalen Lott, I'm from Vallejo California. I moved to Rohnert Park with my mother when I was 11 years old. She thought it would be the best thing for me and of course being a kid I thought that was ridiculous. However, I didn't know coming here would change my life forever in the best way. I met many great people and was presented with great opportunities as well.
My mother has always tried to make sure I have a great life. Along with that comes a great education. She is the hardest working person I know. I also know that if she could she would pay for my education without any hesitation. If you've never met someone who's hard working and determined, with the kindest and most loving heart, It's because you never met my mother. The sacrifices she has made for me is one big thing that keeps me going.
My mom and my dad are my world. I want to go to ST. Vincent De Paul high school because it’s somewhere I think I can strive and be the best version of myself. St. Vincent has great education on top of a great basketball program and when wanting to be a big time athlete those things go hand in hand.
The game of basketball has done so much for me. I have diagnosed severe anxiety and depression. But when I play basketball, everything just goes away. If I pick up a basketball I can't remember why I was sad, why I was angry, why I was discouraged. I feel at peace. I think that's why I love it so much.
Even though I love basketball, I know I will need to have a great education as well. St. Vincent can provide me with the necessary tools to be the best human, scholastically and morally. The support and opportunities for education after high school are unmatched, and I would love to have access to this to be the most successful I can be.
Every time I wanted to quit, and God still woke me up every morning, It's because he has something planned for me. For every time I feel as though my dreams are too far gone, too big to achieve, he gives me a sign to never give up. For anyone who wants to make a donation, who believes in my education, who believes in me accomplishing my dreams. Your generosity will never be forgotten, and will forever be appreciated in my heart. I know you won't regret it. Thank you for your time."
