My name is Italy Ja’rae Lee and I’m a third year currently studying Drama at NYU Tisch School of the Arts. I am a first-generation student, actress, and award-winning spoken word artist.
As of recently, I got accepted into NYU’s International Theatre Workshop in Amsterdam! Thus far, I am grateful to say my education has been fully funded by scholarships considering my independent status as a student. However, being that this is a summer program, my academic scholarships aren’t applicable to fund my participation in this program.
This highly selective program for NYU Tisch is dedicated to helping students refine their acting technique as well as foster new original works. Going to this program would expand the outreach of my spoken word artistry, broaden the lens of my craft with world-leading artists, and grant me the opportunity to give back to my community as an artistic leader. My work focuses on being a champion for arts education, challenging toxic societal narratives, and building bridges between communities through the power of language and performance.
Your donations would sponsor a life-changing opportunity.
Moreover, I’m set to arrive in Amsterdam on June 28th, 2026. With that being said, I’m making a diligent effort to make my mark in Amsterdam with full financial support to ensure my post-graduation success!
Growing up in Elizabeth has significantly shaped my artistic voice as the artistic community gave me permission to use words as a spearhead for change. Your support aids me in carrying the legacy of the artistic pioneers of Jersey: Michael B. Jordan, Queen Latifah, Whitney Houston, and more!
Any contribution helps! I've attached my acceptance letter as an extension of my qualification. Thank you for your support!
