Empower Indigenous Filmmakers: WÓKIKSUYE

Aŋpétu wašté! ❤️

My name is Laura Ten Fingers and I am a member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe in South Dakota. I am currently a senior student at the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico, seeking a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Cinematic Arts and Technology.

I am currently in production of my senior thesis film, WÓKIKSUYE, and I need your help by MARCH 1ST, 2025! I am seeking financial assistance with production funding, which will cover the cost of equipment, location management, cast and crew safety, meals, gas, and the payment of a special guest we will be utilizing for a scene.

WÓKIKSUYE is my senior thesis project which focuses on healing the wounds left behind when we lose someone to violence, or more broadly known as the Indigenous communal crisis of Missing & Murdered Indigenous Relatives. The cast and crew of this film is composed of all Native and Indigenous talent, many of whom are also student filmmakers. This project is a learning experience for all involved as we will be working with a trained buffalo and sensitive equipment, which will allow us to showcase our learned talents and dedication to our craft.️

Your contributions, whether that be through donation or sharing this fundraiser, will be greatly appreciated amongst the crew, cast, and myself. Thank you for taking time to support my journey as a storyteller.

Wóphila! ❤️
