Currently, I maintain active involvement within both my community and academic environments. I serve as a local librarian and fulfill the role of Girl Scout Troop Leader, while also holding the position of Chairperson for the Family Resource Center at an elementary school.
At Morehead State University, I have completed my degree in Political Science with double minors in Mathematics and Spanish. I am now pursuing my Masters in Public Administration from Morehead as well, where I also serve as a Graduate Assistant within the Caudill College. I actively contribute as a member of the Student Government Association (SGA) and participate in several other campus organizations.
As you can see, I am working two jobs on top of all the volunteer work I participate in. I am paying for my degree all on my own, on top of various bills and other expenses.
This upcoming spring, one of my classes is offering a study abroad opportunity during spring break. I have received a scholarship to help mitigate the cost, but the rest is up to me. The trip would take me to Austria and Hungary, but unfortunately adds thousands more onto my bill for my classes. I am trying to save up to be able to make the down payment that is coming up this month.
If this trip does not occur, the money will be spent on another study abroad opportunity.
