Hello! My name is Chloe Paloma Lopez and I am in 8th grade at Green School Bali. I am currently working towards completing my 8th grade Quest project at Green School, and I am really interested in football for female empowerment. So, my project idea involves creating a fundraiser and supporting a local girls' footbal (Soccer) team in Papua called SSB Mutiara Timur. I think my project is an idea worth sharing because it will help build confidence, resilience, and scholarship opportunities for young women in football. Someone that has inspired me and done work in this area is Coach Heidi Scheunemann. She is the coach of SSB Mutiara Timur, and she really wants to help empower women and young girls in football (Soccer). My end goal for my project will be to help show how sports can help empower young girls and build their confidence and resilience by bringing awareness to this very special club. I will be holding a fundraiser at Green School and all of the proceeds will go to the team for supplies such as; Uniforms, balls, training equipment and much more! I will be interviewing and capturing their stories to show how much middle school girls have in common despite their location in the world.
