Help Me Build a Joyful, Empowering First Grade Classroom!
Hi friends, family, and kind-hearted supporters,
My name is David and I’m a proud First Grade teacher in Salinas, California. I’m beyond excited to welcome a new group of brilliant, curious, and creative students into my classroom this fall. This year, we’ll grow as readers, writers, mathematicians, scientists, problem-solvers, and—most importantly—kind, confident learners and community members who believe in ourselves and care for each other.
And we need your help.
We are a Title I School. Nearly 80% of our students are socioeconomically disadvantaged, and about 50% are English Learners. Last year, 24% of our students experienced homelessness. Our students show up every day with big hearts and boundless potential. A lack of access to resources creates real challenges for us.
Your support can make a huge difference.
I’m raising funds to provide the tools and materials that will help my students thrive—regardless of their circumstances. With your help, I hope to purchase:
Diverse, engaging books in many languages that reflect their experiences and open windows to the world.
Hands-on math and science supplies to spark curiosity and critical thinking.
Art materials to give students a creative outlet and build confidence.
Flexible seating and organizational tools to create a calm and comfortable learning environment.
Anything else I can that will meet my students’ diverse needs.
Every dollar will go directly toward creating a safe, welcoming, and inspiring space where every child can feel seen, supported, and successful. Thank you so much for helping me give these incredible kids the first-grade experience they deserve. Whether you donate, share this campaign, or simply send good thoughts our way—it means more than you know.
With gratitude,
David “Mister” G
