Help Sustain the First Female Geshe to Teach in the USA!
Geshema Tenzin Lhadron is a nun from Ladakh who deeply studied the Buddha's teachings for decades at Jamyang Choling Institute in Dharamsala, India. She is now the Resident Teacher at the Forest of Wisdom in Scotland, Connecticut.
✨ Why This Is Historic
Geshema Tenzin Lhadron is not only an experienced Tibetan Buddhist nun and teacher — she holds the Geshe degree, equivalent to a Ph.D. in Buddhist philosophy, which has been historically granted only to monks. Fewer than 100 women in the world have earned this degree.
Why This Matters
Forest of Wisdom is a space for quiet reflection, deep study, and community practice, focused on building the foundations for a thriving monastic community. But we need your help to bring it to life.
We offer:
- Weekly teachings and meditation
- Public talks and workshops
- Spiritual counseling and mentoring
- Cultural events celebrating Tibetan traditions
- Retreats and deep study opportunities (inquire for more information)
Your Support Makes This Possible
We’re seeking $30,000 to cover the annual expenses of running Forest of Wisdom and hosting a skilled, compassionate Resident Teacher who reverberates joy to the world.
Every dollar helps create a path for wisdom to flourish — not just for one year, but for generations to come.
