 This year, I will be teaching middle school self-contained program. This means I will have a group of students with special needs, and I will teach all their lessons in one classroom. It’s a close-knit, supportive setting where I can focus on each student’s unique learning style and help them grow at their own pace. Besides teaching, I will also be their case manager. That means I will coordinate their learning plans, monitor IEP goals, communicate with families and other professionals, and make sure each student gets the support they need to succeed. Anything you can contribute from sensory tools that help with focus and calm, to fun activities that inspire curiosity and growth, every item will make a positive difference.
