12.2.25 Update!
Thank you everyone that has donated so far. We are blown away by the love and support we have received from all over the world.
The current donations have allowed us to put down the deposit on the program and sort out housing nearby! We are super close to the goal, so any additional sharing of the link would be greatly appreciated!!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

My 9-year-old nephew, Emmett, was born with a rare neurological disorder called Hemimegalencephaly, which caused catastrophic epilepsy. At just 8 months old, he underwent a hemispherectomy to disconnect the affected half of his brain. That surgery stopped 90% the 20–40 daily seizures that were halting his development and would have led to terminal decline. (A huge and heartfelt thank-you to everyone who supported the GoFundMe in 2017 that allowed us to travel to UCLA for that lifesaving surgery.) Because of his condition and the surgery, Emmett now lives with several challenges: Cerebral Palsy, autism, epilepsy, intellectual disability, and significant vision and speech impairments. But if you know Emmett, you know that these diagnoses don’t define him. He is curious, joyful, sensitive — and he is absolutely capable of learning and developing when given the right support.
In April of 2024, Emmett completed a Napa Center intensive in Charlotte, NC, and the progress was remarkable. His language expanded, he began putting two words together, and — for the first time — he was able to get up off the floor and climb stairs independently. His mobility, confidence, and stability all improved in ways that continue long after the program ended. Napa also teaches us how not to underestimate what Emmett can achieve with the right guidance and challenge.
So! We are thrilled to share that Emmett has been offered a coveted spot in a 3-week intensive at the world-renowned Napa Center in London* in February 2026.
He would receive 4 hours of therapy a day, 5 days a week:
• 1 hour of speech
• 1 hour of Dynamic Movement Intervention
• 2 hours of PT and OT using the NeuroSuit
We’ve included photos above from his 2024 intensive so you can see the kind of work he’s doing.
Unfortunately, insurance will not cover international treatment, and the program is only possible if we can raise $13,500 (£10,000).
Cost Breakdown:
• Napa Intensive: $9,800 (£7,500)
• Travel & Meals: $1,000 (£600) — the clinic is 1+ hour from London, which raises transport costs from Edinburgh
• Accommodation (3 weeks): $2,600 (£2,000)
If you are able to contribute any amount and share this page, you’ll be helping Emmett continue building the skills, independence, and confidence that will shape the rest of his life. Our family is deeply grateful for your support — past, present, and future.
