My Mission In communities torn by trauma and hardship, young minds face challenges that extend far beyond the classroom. At Roots and Resilience Consulting, I stand at the forefront of change—guiding and nurturing these young souls and the educators who reach out to them every day. With over 18 years of experience, my mission is to transform early childhood education through trauma-informed teaching methods that promote healing and resilience.

The Challenge Recent studies reveal that nearly half of children in the United States encounter at least one form of adverse childhood experience (ACE) by their teenage years. These experiences range from various forms of neglect and abuse, natural disasters, and witnessing various forms of violence. The repercussions? Long-lasting impacts on their educational attainment, emotional well-being, and future opportunities.

Why I Need Your Help Despite the critical need, many early childhood educators, who are the pillars of many students' educational foundations, lack the resources, training, and support to address trauma effectively. My Story I have dedicated my career to teaching young minds and empowering educators and students in urban settings, driven by my own experiences with trauma as a child, and the urgent needs I see daily. I understand what it's like to see children struggle and feel helpless to do anything to help them. But as a mediator, educator, and trauma-informed teaching advocate, I've also had the privilege of seeing firsthand the transformation that occurs when students and educators are equipped with the right tools to support their emotional and educational needs.
