Hi, my name is César. In August 2018, I first came to the United States in pursuit of a higher education, seeking opportunities that felt out of reach back home in Honduras. It was an experience I never took for granted.

Now, after seven years, my journey in the U.S. is drawing to a close, and I'm preparing to return to Honduras. Initially, I was disheartened by the idea of leaving. However, I now see it as an opportunity to be at home, close to family, while also contributing directly and positively to the educational landscape.

My passion for education is fueled by my own academic experience and by both of my parents who have been educators for decades. They work tirelessly with brilliant students who, despite their potential, often lack the resources to truly own their educational journey.

This is why I will pursue graduate studies when I return to Honduras. This will help with a new educational project. The goal is to transform The Mia Foundation from an idea to a project that can empower educators and students everywhere to say "Education is mine / La educación es mía."

There are already many impactful initiatives that help support educators and students. However, they often face resource limitations and require more sustained support.

With this fundraiser, I hope to raise the funds needed to pursue my graduate studies and to transform The Mia Foundation from an idea into a strong, plausible project. This will help take the next steps, including seeking fiscal sponsorship, applying for fellowships and social impact programs, and working on the project on the ground.
