Help Launch Jeffery “Doc” Sinchak’s Next Mission: MARITIME SURVEYOR
________________________________________

My name is Jeffery “Doc” Sinchak—a proud disabled combat veteran and former Navy Corpsman. I’ve dedicated my life to serving others: on the battlefield, in disaster zones, in boardrooms, on board military and commercial construction sites, and the front lines of veteran advocacy. Now, I’m ready to embark on a new mission: charting a path forward in Certified Maritime Yacht and Small Craft Surveying.

After combat in Iraq, I completed 23 years of distinguished naval service honorably retiring as Senior Chief Hospital Corpsman (DIVER). I continued to serve my community and my country—as a Disaster Operations Specialist with FEMA, a respected Spokesperson for the Wounded Warrior Project, a Health and Safety professional for several multi-million-dollar construction companies, and proudly served as a volunteer with the Florida State Guard, deploying during emergency responses for hurricanes Helene and Milton as a member of the Maritime Response Squadron. In every position, I’ve demonstrated strong leadership, integrity, and a relentless commitment to ensuring the safety, success, and well-being of others.

However, my service-connected disabilities have made it increasingly difficult to continue in roles that exacerbate my physical injuries and create long-term emotional strain. Recognizing this, I made a proactive and strategic decision to shift into a field where I can apply my skills, discipline, and technical mindset—Maritime Surveying—a profession where my work won’t just keep vessels safe—it will help ensure boaters, families, and coastal communities can enjoy the water with greater peace of mind, knowing their safety is protected. It’s a path that is both meaningful and sustainable for me, and critically needed within the maritime industry in Florida and across the nation.

As a veteran with service-connected injuries and disabilities, I turned to the VA’s Vocational Rehabilitation & Employment (VR&E) program for support, hoping to retrain for a pathway that honors my knowledge, skills, and abilities while allowing me to remain self-sufficient. Unfortunately, I was denied assistance—even with clear documentation of my need and a solid, well-researched plan.

The VR&E decision was a bitter disappointment—discouraging, but not defeating. It’s a setback that will meet with vigor, composure, grit, and fortitude, and I am not giving up.

I am a warrior with documented success in arduous environments and exigent circumstances, one who has maintained a determined focus on caring for others—ensuring they receive the best and most comprehensive care and services available. That commitment still drives me, and I’m determined to bring it into this new chapter of my life.

Why Maritime Surveying?
The sea has always been a constant in my life—whether on it or in it, it has been a source of inspiration and solace. Surveying allows me to combine my love for maritime systems with my attention to detail, safety standards, and technical acumen. It’s a natural extension of everything I’ve done—and everything I stand for.
This path forward offers me:
• Purpose-driven, independent work
• Long-term sustainability despite physical limitations
• A new way to serve—with integrity, precision, and pride
• A direct contribution to an industry that is essential to the nation’s economy, boating safety, and helping families enjoy their time on the water with confidence and peace of mind

Why I’m Asking for Support:
If it's true that “the greatest casualty is being forgotten,” then let this be a reminder: there are thousands of disabled veterans who continue to push forward with courage, purpose, and pride—long after their uniforms are folded away and we refuse to be forgotten.

After decades of answering the call to serve, helping others comes naturally. I never saw others asking for help as weakness—only as resolve. Now, my resolve is being tested as I face something far less natural: asking for help for myself, particularly in a public forum. It’s not easy, it’s uncomfortable…it feels selfish and a bit awkward. There is, however, a simple truth in this process.

This mission is bigger than my pride, and to be openly candid, vulnerable, and transparent…I can’t complete it alone. I need others to rally around and help to get it done.

This is not a solicitation for charity—I’m fighting to build a mission-driven capability, where I can keep making a difference with dignity and meaning. Your support will help launch this next chapter of service—one that not only provides for a sustainable future built on purpose and action, but also strengthens a vital and growing industry that boating families, coastal communities, and the marine industry nationwide rely on.

Support this call to action…Make a donation and share this message—Your effort will strengthen the lines, keeping this mission on course.

Be well today, stay resilient, and thank you in advance for your consideration and assistance…“Non Tornare Mai Indietro
