Empower Destiny Garcia's Future in Veterinary Medicine

Donation protected

My name is Michelle, I created this gofundme for my daughter Destiny Garcia. I hope this show cases the magnitude of her true strength, courage and determination.

Sometimes people are born in environments out of their control. Without any way out...those people typically fall victim to generational curses no matter how much they fight to avoid it, due to lack of opportunities. When those type of people have children, they typically can't save their children from suffering the same fate, no matter how much they sacrifice and fight to persevere due to lack of opportunities.

Destiny grew up having no choice but to accept she would never know her biological father due to him being killed by gang violence before she was born. Without the luxury of family and support, Destiny and I only had each other. With my medical issue's at that time, and having no lifeline, Destiny didn't have a stable home until she was 4yrs old. At 4yrs old., she had alot of 1st. Her 1st stable home, her 1st own room, her 1st Christmas with her own tree and presents, her 1st bike, her 1st time having a family and father figure, and her 1st time finally being able to be comfortable. Unfortunately it was short lived and at 5yrs. Old, her whole world came crashing down. Literally over night everything changed. She no longer had a family, a father figure, a happy home, or a place she could be comfortable. The home that was once filled with happiness, hope and love, overnight became a broken home. Think about how a 5yr old brain could possibly process that. I picked up the pieces the best I could on my own. Destiny grew up in low income housing, in area's where gangs where prevalent, and she was exposed to the raw reality of life at a very young age. She did her best to navigate emotions she was to young to understand. She fell in a dark path at 12yrs old. She started to self medicate, trying to run from what was to painful to process. By the time she was 15yrs old, she was drowning in pain she couldn't comprehend. It got really bad, really quick. At 16yrs old, she had failed all her classes and was 2yrs behind in credits. She was loosing herself by the overwhelming fear of not being able to make up those credits. So she made the responsible decision to go online for school in order to focus and start making up credits. Which was an immense struggle with her having dyslexia. She got sober, cut off everyone she knew that used drugs or alcohol and began to pick up the pieces emotionally and mentally. She was working on the computer from sun up to sun down, 7 days a week... and eventually made up 130 credits her junior yr. She finally was on track for graduation. She had started to gain confidence, started to become comfortable in her skin, was learning how to cope with the trauma she had endured and finally had so much hope. Hope that she was finally gonna be ok. In August 2024, her senior yr... she was a victim to gang violence. Four gang bangers tried to attack her. Luckily she wasn't alone and that person made sure my daughter didn't get hurt. Unfortunately we were evicted, because one of those gang bangers were the nephew of the management and I had no proof to defend us. I later discovered this apartment complex has had numerous complaints and lawsuits surrounding around gang activities and corrupt management performing illegal activities. Destiny still refused to let her circumstances to defeat her, when she had every reason to. Even with losing everything all over again, triggering her past trauma, not having consistent or dependable wi-fi for her to do her homework, she still made it happen! She has overcome the death of her father, trauma, being abandoned by so called family numerous times, addiction, mental health struggles, gang violence, learning disabilities, poverty and homelessness... all at 17yrs old. With that being said, her determination is truly admirable. Her strength is unbelievable. She is now at that make it or break it moment in her life. I fear If she's not given an opportunity to go to school and learn a trade to make a living, she will be faced with the same fate I once was. Homelessness, no lifeline, no opportunities, no way out, drowning in a void impossible to fill... and having no control over her future. I can't let that happen. If you could save one child by giving them hope, an opportunity, a way out and all you had to do was share a post or donate $1.... would you? Would you share a post or donate knowing you saved one child from generational curses and saved them from just being another statistic...

This amount will cover her tuition at OC Veterinary Assistant School in Garden Grove, Ca. By showing your support your showing Destiny that there is still hope, hard work does pay off, she's a survivor, she is worthy, and she is not her circumstances... She is a WARRIOR!
