Hi everyone, my name is DeOnn.

I am launching this campaign with a heavy heart but a hopeful vision for the future. I am raising funds to help me safely transition out of an unsafe living situation in Mississippi, and to build a foundation where I can thrive personally while also supporting Democratic socialist efforts nationwide.

My Current Situation

Right now, I am living in an environment where my independence is being completely stifled. My finances are being strictly controlled, my movement is heavily restricted, and most alarmingly, my medication is being withheld and administered illegally by a family member.

While I am actively taking steps to secure my permanent independence and am anticipating a legal settlement, I urgently need a financial cushion to safely escape this environment right now. I need to bridge the gap until those long-term legal and financial solutions are finalized.

The Plan Forward

I cannot achieve my goals or help others while trapped here in Louisville. My immediate plan is to relocate, begin my college education in Maryland, and finally take full control over my life, my health, and my own bank accounts. This transition is my chance to finally breathe, pursue my degree, and build a future on my own terms.

Supporting the Movement

This campaign isn't just about my personal survival—it's about solidarity. A core part of my life's mission is to care for others and fight for systemic change. Because of this, a portion of the funds raised here will be dedicated to supporting Democratic socialist organizers, candidates, and community initiatives across the country.

By helping me secure my footing and escape a toxic household, you are also empowering me to actively contribute to the working-class communities and political causes that need our support the most.
