Empower Costa Rican Youth Through Music

Help Support a Drum Teacher and Buy uniforms for Costa Rica’s Independence Day Parade!
Goal: Empower Yound Musicians and Celebrate Cultural Exchange.
This September 15th, 2025, students from a small Costa Rican community will proudly march in their local Independence Day parade — a national tradition filled with music, pride, and spirit.
But they can't do it alone.
We’re raising funds to support a dedicated local drum teacher who is helping prepare these young musicians for their big day. With your help, we can ensure they receive the instruction they need to play with skill, confidence, and joy. Video: Students Learning to Drum
Where Your Support Goes
- Compensation for the drum teacher’s time and expertise
- Maintenance and supplies for the drums (mallets, straps, etc.)
- Uniforms for parades/events
About the Project
The drums were generously donated by Germantown Friends School (Philadelphia, PA) in collaboration with Seeds of Change Research, a tropical field research and cultural exchange program for high school students in Costa Rica. Video: GFS Music Teacher on Costa Rica Drum Exchange
Thanks to this unique partnership, Costa Rican students now have access to quality instruments — but they still need expert guidance to prepare for this important national event.
A Cross-Cultural Collaboration
This project is more than just music — it’s about empowerment, education, and cultural connection. Through the Seeds of Change program, students from the U.S. and Costa Rica build bridges of understanding and mutual respect. Supporting this campaign helps strengthen that connection and uplifts a rural community through the power of music.
You Can Make a Difference
