Empower Christian's Journey: rare bone cancer

Donation protected
My name is Brenda and I've had the privilege of knowing the Mayo family ever since Christian joined the Young Marine program. Known by me as (Mayo) Christian, comes from a truly remarkable and spiritually grounded family. Through Christian's involvement in the program, our families have forged a deep friendship. Words cannot express the admiration I have for the Mayo family, which is why I've created this page—to offer support during their time of need.

At just 16 years old, Christian is facing one of the toughest battles of his life - a rare bone cancer.

On December 28th, the Mayo family received the devastating news that Christian has been diagnosed. This diagnosis has turned his world upside down, requiring a grueling 27-week chemotherapy with 12 cycles in total, alternating every other week at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

A Little About the Mayo’s Christian isn't just battling cancer; he's the firstborn of Mark and Deborah (2020 cancer survivor), and the older brother to Annabelle and Ashley students at Rising Tide, residing in Buzzards Bay, MA. A sophomore at Upper Cape High School, he shines as a talented athlete in both basketball and lacrosse, while also being an active member of his community and Cape Cod Church's youth group. His family's involvement with Cpl. Nicholas Xiarhos Young Marines speaks volumes about their commitment to service. When not on the field or in church, Christian enjoys fishing, hunting, boating, and gaming. He embodies strength and spirit in every aspect of his life.

Mayo’s family is unwavering in their support, standing by his side every step of the way. Mark, who has dedicated 21 years of service at The Double E Group works tirelessly to provide for his family. Despite the demands of his job, Mark's company has shown incredible support, granting him the flexibility to be present at home regularly, aiding the family during this challenging time.

Please consider supporting Christian; your prayers are deeply valued and appreciated—truly, they mean the world to this family in their time of need. If you have the financial means, please donate to his GoFundMe page, and consider sharing his story within your networks. Every contribution, no matter how big or small, will make a meaningful impact on Christian's battle against cancer.

We're aiming to raise $21,600 to relieve the financial strain on the Mayo family, allowing them to fully concentrate on Christian's healing journey without the burden of financial worries. These funds will cover transportation costs, parking fees, meals, hotels, and medical bills.
