I’m Camille Armstrong. Also known as “CAMILLE WHO? In the last 2 years, I've recognized that I've been transitioning into the next chapter of my life. Though I'm great as a care-taker, performing artist and teaching youth in the arts, etc., there are many other gifts God blessed me with that have to be released and maximized to bless others, and hopefully the world after I'm gone. In other words, in order to really fully live out my potential, I had to shift gears and start pursuing these things.
When I was looking for work as a nanny, and simultaneously decided to leave Pennsylvania Youth Theatre where I served as a Dance and Drama Instructor for 15 years, I took the chance on myself to not get a second job as a “side hustle” because that would suck up all of my time and leave me none to work on my life's work. Sound familiar to you?
That said, I knew that it would mean I would be living the low-income life during this time, but I also knew that what I have in me to be released for the future would be worth the leap of faith, and a risk I was willing to take. Last year in October, I got to the point of having to humble myself and ask my church to help pay my rent, and praise the LORD, they did! I realized then that this was something that had been running in my family for generations. That none of my family members really live out their full potential because they're too busy overworking themselves only to sacrifice their purpose and their health and wellness, or just settle with poverty-based living. I decided that, though this is uncharted territory, I was going to break the curse of poverty and unhealthy work habits over my family in my generation. Paving a way to inspire them, and others to find and pursue their purpose for which God gifted them, and to learn and benefit from financial literacy.
Since December of 2023 I've been on a mission! Reading books on financial literacy, entrepreneurship, the knowledge-based business, empowerment, creating multiple income streams, growth and generational wealth, taking free & paid online courses, and investing in my mind, making myself more valuable for the future ahead.
Cut to this day...I've defined my mission and vision to represent, educate and empower 1st generation Americans of immigrant parents (a group of which I’m a part), aspiring artists, educators, and first-time parents, leaving a legacy that will change their world for the better and hopefully make my mark in a way that satisfies God's purpose for the gifts He's bestowed upon me. Phase 1 was to start educating myself, get my first book published, and to pay off my credit cards so that I can be debt-free and begin to build a much needed emergency fund account.
Financially, I'm in a little bit of a better place than last year, but I'm still just making it. Barely paying all the bills by myself, but not having enough time to work an extra job (because that sacrifices the time I have left as a mother, my life's work, my health and my wellness).
In the attached video, you'll see the other things I've been working on and what’s to come, so you know I'm not just sitting, twiddling my thumbs, waiting for money to come my way. Like I said, I've been on a mission, and I'm on the verge of something big that I truly believe in, but I realize I can't do it without help. This is a big lesson for me in this season of my life.
With that, I'm asking for your support! Your support will help with book publishing, artwork for the up and coming children’s book series I’ve written, the start of a new publishing company as I have many books coming, and the creation and finishing time it takes to produce, market and distribute this work in the coming year. Thank you, in advance for your loving support and belief in my vision!
