Empowering Cameroonian Youth to Forge a Thriving Digital Future.
“I never thought I could make a difference in my community—until I participated in the innovation week. My friends and I are now developing a climate-smart farming solution to help local farmers optimize water usage and increase yield.”

Our Journey So Far
Mountain Hub and NokidBehind are nonprofits that drive digital skills and entrepreneurship training across Africa. We have been working on this mission for 5 years. Over the past year, we have traveled to the ten regions of Cameroon, Central Africa, hosting Innovation Weeks that gather young talents for intensive 48-hour hackathons. Each area focuses on a pressing local challenge, ranging from Climate-Smart Agriculture and AI-powered education to Digital Trade and Finance, cultural preservation through Technology, Eco-Tourism, and more.
From these sessions:
1,000 young men and women came together to learn, collaborate, and develop tech-based solutions for their communities.
We saw firsthand how youth from diverse cultures and backgrounds bonded over a shared vision for improving daily life in Cameroon.
Their creativity was astounding. After these ten regional events, we hosted a national hackathon with 350 of the best innovators, who produced 200 promising prototypes ranging from simple mobile apps to hardware solutions.
The Impact
These prototypes address real-world problems that many Cameroonians face. For example:
An app that connects small-scale farmers to local markets, helping them sell produce more quickly.
An AI-assisted platform allowing students in remote areas to access quality educational materials beyond the classroom.
A cultural export project that uses virtual reality to promote Cameroonian festivals and traditions internationally.
Through these hackathons, young people have discovered the power of digital tools and their potential to become job creators. Hackathons are more than training programs—they are a movement that fosters social cohesion, inspires sustainable economic development, and gives hope to an entire generation.
Why We Need Your Help
Now, we want to bridge the gap between ideas and thriving enterprises. We aim to incubate 70 out of these 200 prototypes and help teams overcome the most common obstacles to launching a successful startup. With $155,000, we can:
Purchase Critical Equipment: Computers, software licenses, and hardware components needed to enhance and test their prototypes.
Provide Connectivity: Reliable internet access enables teams in remote areas to collaborate, conduct research, and expand into global markets.
Secure Cloud Services: Hosting platforms and data storage to bring their solutions online and reach more users.
Offer Training & Mentorship: Expert-led sessions to refine business models, shape go-to-market strategies, and equip teams with the skills to pitch their ideas to investors.
Large or small contributions will bring us closer to a future in which young Cameroonians can harness technology to solve everyday challenges, create jobs, and lift their communities out of poverty.
