Help Brittany Reclaim Her Life & Bring Her Babies Home
Hi, my name is Alicia. I’m a mama and grand-mama bear doing everything I can to help my daughter Brittany and my two grandchildren find safety, healing, and hope again.

TLDR:
My daughter Brittany is a loving, faithful, resilient mother of two—fighting to reclaim her health, her daughter, and her future after surviving an emotionally abusive relationship and ongoing medical neglect. She’s currently stuck in Texas, away from the support she desperately needs. I’m raising funds to bring her, her son Jayden, and her baby daughter Joy back home to Arizona—where they can begin again, surrounded by love, stability, and care.

The Brittany You’d Know Before All This…

Brittany has always been full of light. She’s a proud mama, a deeply spiritual woman, and someone who has faced life’s challenges with grace. She was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) in her teens, and although it changed her life, she never let it define her. With treatment, support, and faith, she was doing beautifully—raising her son Jayden here in Arizona with my help, managing her health, and keeping her joyful spark.
But everything changed when she went to Texas in early 2023 to visit her ailing grandmother who ultimately passed away.

A Move That Turned Into a Nightmare
What began as a short trip to say goodbye to a beloved grandmother became a downward spiral that Brittany is still trying to escape. When her grandmother passed, Brittany and Jayden ended up staying with her father and stepmother—but the environment was far from supportive. She was expected to pay just to sleep on the couch, handing over a good portion of her limited income from disability and food assistance.
Then she met a man who seemed like a blessing at first. He was older, charismatic, and swept her off her feet with promises of a better, faith-filled family life. They married when she became pregnant, and she moved in with him, his son from a previous relationship, and his mother. But the beautiful house came with deeply controlling, isolating, and spiritually manipulative rules. Her husband and mother in law tried to convince her she had the devil in her.
Brittany was not allowed to cook, drive, or make decisions for herself. She wasn’t even allowed to have a key to the house so she could leave and come back. Her MS was dismissed as a lack of faith. She was denied postnatal care, and never allowed to follow up on her MS medication—even after giving birth naturally with no pain medication. She was repeatedly told to “pray away the pain.” Not only were her husband and mother in law emotionally abusive (criticizing, belittling, manipulating, etc.), but her mother in law was also physically abusive, prompting my daughter to call police for her own safety.

Not surprisingly, Brittany’s mental and physical health rapidly declined. She became isolated, gaslit, and worn down. Because I was so worried about her, I made a plan to bring her home to Arizona temporarily to get her the help she needed for her physical and mental health. Everyone seemed to be on board with the plan…until Brittany contacted me distraught that no one wanted her to leave. Not her husband, mother in law, father, or stepmother. She was so upset knowing she needed help but no one was helping her or supportive of her leaving to get help. She was caught in the middle of an impossible situation and turned to the only thing she had to help her feel better – her anxiety medication.
The day before she was scheduled to come back to Arizona, she took more of her anxiety medication than normal because of the stress. She told her aunt about it, and her aunt insisted she go to the hospital. It was no surprise that after everything she had been through, Brittany was diagnosed with post-partum depression and kept for several days for observation. When she was ready to be discharged, her husband refused to pick her up and said his mother would not allow her to come back to the house…ever. Her son, daughter, and belongings were in the house but she was told she could not be there.
So there she was – ready to leave the hospital, newly diagnosed with post-partum depression, dealing with untreated chronic pain from MS, cut off from her children, not allowed to even get clothes from the house let alone other belongings. She turned to the only other family nearby – her father and step mother – who allowed her to stay with them, again on the couch.
Since my daughter was released from the hospital, her husband has only allowed her to see Joy a few times – only with his supervision and never for very long. He has also refused to give the baby breast milk Brittany has pumped. Then, in December 2024, he stopped allowing Brittany to see Joy, making excuses and not returning her calls.

I’m heart-broken to find my daughter and grandchildren in this situation. When I was in communication with Brittany’s husband and mother in law about my concerns and wanting to get my daughter some help, I thought they were on board. But instead, they used the information against her in what appears to be an attempt to drive Brittany away so they could keep the baby. Sadly, I’ve since learned this was a similar pattern of behavior they used to take the husband’s older child from his mother years ago.
Jayden is now struggling as he is affected by seeing his mother being treated so poorly and missing his sister. He desperately wants to return to Arizona to a sense of safety and stability. Recently (mid April 2025), he acted out which prompted authorities to investigate. While Jayden is perfectly safe in his mother’s care, authorities were concerned about Joy. This prompted Joy’s father to finally allow Brittany to see her again after 4 long months. Mother's Day 2025 my daughter called and text and no response. Finally at the end of the day, her sister-in-law did a video call which was very sad.
But this pattern of not allowing Brittany to see her own daughter, without any legal justification, is not only hurting Brittany, but Jayden and Joy as well.

Why We Need Your Help
Right now, Brittany and Jayden are still living on a couch in her father’s house. She hasn’t been able to work due to her illness and lack of support. Her baby daughter is being withheld from her. And she’s still not getting consistent medical care for her MS.
But we have a plan—and faith that this story isn’t over.
I want to bring Brittany and her children back to Arizona, where they’ll live with me in a safe, stable home. I can get her the medical care and emotional support she needs. I can help her rebuild her confidence and reclaim custody of her daughter. But we need help to make it happen.
