Brit Persy: Single Mom Fighting Stage 4 Cancer

Brittany is the kind of girl that lights up a room with her wit, smile and presence. She is without a doubt one of the most courageous women I’ve ever met, and is truly an inspiration as a mother to her 3 precious boys. Her exuberance for living life to the fullest, and bringing happiness and making others laugh is her signature trait.

Britt has been dealt with what she calls a handful of "short straws", yet she overcomes obstacles in her path with strength, determination, humour and grace. She has never been one to ask for help, yet we as a family, are here to reach out on her behalf.

For the last year, Britt has been experiencing health complications, which grew increasingly difficult. Despite many trips to the doctors, her symptoms were dismissed. In June, after nearly a year of finding it extremely difficult to eat, and the development of ascites, she went through a series of invasive tests. The results delivered a devastating blow to our family- Britt was diagnosed with Stage 4 gastric cancer- (Signet Ring) a rare and aggressive form.

Currently her treatment involves both IV and oral chemotherapy, along with immunotherapy.. Britt lives in Canmore, and is unable to work at this time. We are fundraising in hopes to help take the financial burden off her shoulders allowing her to focus on her treatment ( & possibly consider alternatives), and what matters most, making meaningful memories with her 3 boys through the uncertain journey ahead.
