God got my heart early in life for boys and basketball. My purpose is using basketball as a platform to help boys reach their athletic dreams, but more importantly, coach them in life principles and a hope we have now and in the future in Jesus. Sharing the gospel through basketball is the mission and working to build bridges between what we think we desire and what Christ desires in us.
If you know anything about Kids Across America, I am a product of that special place when I was a college student. At KAA, God took my heart and my talent for basketball and created a purpose deep in me that crosses racial boundaries. Now, my family is multiracial, and basketball has allowed me to create a space for my son to be around boys that look like him, and dad is the one that is different. It has been a powerful place for racial lines to be erased and reconciliation beauty to occur.
The funds will all be used for the boys and creating opportunities for them to see they are valuable and have a purpose greater than what they think or their circumstances direct them.
