Our goal is ambitious: raise $250,000 to provide direct financial support to Black women navigating layoffs, unexpected job loss, and the difficult period that comes after.

Losing a job doesn't just mean losing a paycheck. It can mean losing health insurance, falling behind on rent, and choosing which bill gets paid. It can mean putting off therapy or psychiatric care, stretching medication, or trying to keep groceries in the fridge while simultaneously preparing for another job interview.

And while the world may see a woman who is just "between jobs," behind closed doors, she may be fighting to keep her entire life from turning upside down. The Life Change Support Fund exists for those moments.

Created through Brown Girl Corporate World , the Life Change Support Fund is designed to provide direct, short-term financial assistance to Black women experiencing hardship following a layoff or unexpected job loss.

Our goal isn't to replace someone's income indefinitely. It's to help create breathing room during a period in life that could literally mean the beginning or the end for a Black woman navigating the working world. If we can get one utility bill paid, pay for a therapy appointment she doesn't have to cancel, help her obtain medications she can't go without, give her a ride to an interview, or provide groceries for her family, the mission will be fulfilling its purpose and we can keep it on repeat so that difficult situations don't become a crisis.

What Your Donation Will Support
All funds will be used to provide approved recipients with assistance for essential stabilization needs, including:
  • Housing and rent assistance
  • Utilities
  • Groceries and essential household expenses
  • Transportation
  • Childcare assistance
  • Health insurance premiums and eligible healthcare expenses
  • Therapy and counseling
  • Psychiatry appointments
  • Prescription medications
  • Employment-related necessities
  • Other approved emergency stabilization needs associated with job loss

Recipients will be selected through an application and review process, with assistance determined according to available funding, demonstrated need, and program guidelines.

Why $250,000?
Because we want to think bigger than helping one woman once. At an average award of $500, $250,000 represents the potential for 500 moments of assistance. At an average award of $1,000, it represents 250 significant interventions in the lives of women trying to regain their footing.

Actual award amounts will vary based on individual circumstances, available funds, and approved needs, but our goal represents something larger:

What could happen if thousands of us decided that Black women shouldn't have to navigate job loss alone?

Transparency matters, and the Life Change Support Fund is separate from our fundraiser established to support the operations, growth, and the development and distribution of free programming and resources through Brown Girl Corporate World.

This campaign is specifically dedicated to the Life Change Support Fund and the financial assistance it provides to approved recipients.
We intend to share regular impact updates, including aggregate information about funds raised, assistance distributed, number of women supported, and categories of assistance provided, while protecting recipients' personal information and dignity. Recipients will never be required to publicly share their stories as a condition of receiving assistance.

NOTE: Brown Girl Corporate World and JD Madison and Company LLC are not currently representing contributions to this campaign as tax-deductible charitable donations. Donors should consult their own tax advisers regarding their individual circumstances.

This Is About More Than a Job
Black women have spent generations working, leading, caregiving, building companies, supporting families, and carrying communities. When one of us hits a difficult chapter, community can become part of the bridge to the next one.

Maybe you can give $10.
Maybe you can cover someone's $150 therapy appointment.
Maybe your company can contribute $5,000.
Maybe you can't give at all, but you can share this fundraiser with someone who can. Every contribution moves us closer to creating a meaningful source of support for Black women navigating one of life's most destabilizing transitions.

Help us raise $250,000 and turn community into tangible support. Because sometimes changing a woman's life doesn't begin with solving everything. Sometimes it begins by helping her make it through the week or the month.
